CSK secures Rachin Ravindra for ₹1.8 crore

Chennai Super Kings secures New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra for a notable Rs. 1.8 crore during the IPL 2024 auction held in Dubai on Tuesday.

The intense bidding battle commenced between CSK and DC for Ravindra, with PBKS joining in at Rs. 1.1 crore. Ultimately, CSK emerged victorious in acquiring the promising player.

Ravindra gained prominence during the ODI World Cup in 2023, hosted in India, where he showcased his batting prowess by amassing an impressive total of 578 runs in 10 innings, finishing as the fourth-highest run-scorer of the tournament.

In the T20 format, having represented New Zealand in 18 matches, Ravindra has contributed 145 runs at an average of 13.18 and an impressive strike rate of 117.88. Notably, he adds versatility to his skill set by being adept at left-arm fingerspin, and he is capable of batting lower down the order when required.

This acquisition adds a valuable asset to the Chennai Super Kings squad, and fans eagerly anticipate Ravindra’s performance in the upcoming IPL season.
